Think.Act.Achieve - Lesson 1 - Challenging Goals
Lesson 1 on challenging goals defines the foundation of the entire Think.Act.Achieve coaching program. It revolves around how to define your personal worthwhile goal and begin to pursue it with clarity and purpose. The central thesis: only those who have a clear, meaningful goal can achieve real growth and exceptional results.
Core content of lesson 1
1️⃣ What is your “worthy ideal”?
A worthy ideal is a challenging goal that excites you, inspires you and allows you to grow. It is not about a "realistic" goal, but about what you really want, not just what you think is possible. Bob Proctor distinguishes between three types of goals:
- A-Goal: Something you already know how to achieve. No growth, no progress.
- B-Goal: Something you think is possible, with a little planning. Comfort zone.
- C-Goal (worthy ideal): A goal you really want, but don't know how to achieve. It requires you to go beyond yourself.
2️⃣ What are your paradigms and their role?
Paradigms are deeply ingrained belief systems that determine your behavior and results. You must recognize and change your paradigm in order to achieve new goals. Choosing a worthy ideal is the first step towards this change.
In this lesson, we find and define your personal C-goal as your strongest drive to grow (some people also refer to this as your “life purpose”)
Tools & exercises from lesson 1
1️⃣ Your goal setting (goal card)
You formulate your goal clearly, in the present tense and emotionally charged. Example:
"I am so happy and grateful now that I can achieve [your goal] with ease and joy."
You write this goal on a card - your personal goal card - which you always carry with you and read several times a day.
2️⃣ Affirmations or afformations
You learn to repeat your goal statement aloud or internally in the right way several times a day. This is how you begin to reprogram your subconscious. You can do this through
- Affirmations (positive formulations about your goal that you imprint in your subconscious for the long term and thus overwrite negative belief patterns)
- Afformations (you ask yourself positive, solution-oriented questions that prompt your mind to explain to you why your goal has already been achieved - and thus avoid focusing on doubts)
3️⃣ Imagination (Visualization)
You regularly learn to vividly imagine what it looks and feels like to have already achieved your goal. Emotion is crucial here - feel the joy, the pride, the fulfillment.
4️⃣ Self-reflection
You learn consistent self-reflection, which keeps you on your path to your challenging goal and confirms it. Examples:
- What do I really want?
- Why do I want this?
- What has been holding me back so far?
- What new thoughts do I need to think regularly?
- Am I already acting consistently with my challenging goal?
